Tasks of End Tipper Trailers for Your Homestead Preparation

When you begin clearing property for a new homestead, there are several tasks you have to consider. The tasks that likely come to mind are clearing the land and leveling the land for new barns and buildings. There are some tasks that follow these more common processes that you may not consider right away. These processes can benefit from the use of end tipper trailers. Here are some of those tasks and what you need to know about how the end tippers can be an asset.

Earthmoving

There will be some areas of the homestead that you need to build up. This means moving earth from one area where it is not needed to the area it is needed. You may also need to haul soil into the homestead to fill in areas such as old drainage ditches, holding ponds, or areas where the land is lower than the rest of the property area. With an end tipper, you can not only haul the soil into the area where it is needed, you can dump it slowly and spread it out easily. This makes the job easier and helps you to get an even layer of the soil in the area.

Ditch Lining

You will likely have drainage ditches you want throughout the property. These ditches may not be suited for covered ditches, but instead for simply moving the rainwater or runoff away from buildings. When these ditches are dug out, they will need to be lined. The most common lining is a layer or two of gravel. This helps prevent the water from saturating the earth beneath while still moving it away from the area. You an use an end tipper trailer to haul in the gravel and run it down the length of the drains to cover them easily and spread the gravel evenly.

Feed Hauling

There are some situations where you will want to bring in large amounts of feed and other similar items for the animals you will have. This can be a difficult for some hauling options or trucks. If you use an end tipper trailer, you offer yourself the ability to bring in a larger amount of feed. You also offer yourself the ability to leave the trailer in the tipped position since the end tipping trailers are more stable for longer periods of time in a tipped position compared to other options.

If you think an end tipper trailer will benefit your homesteading preparation project, contact your local heavy equipment hire. They can help you with options, pricing and hire contracts for the tipper. They can also help with additional questions you might have or with other equipment that can benefit your needs.
